Guardians of the Galaxy Speed painting part 1

I'm continue to practice documenting my painting process. In this Part 1 of 2 speed painting video involves a tonal wash base of Rocket and Groot. I'll post the next video and final composition shortly.

Flash - Speed Painting Video

Here is the Flash painting caught on video. The process is quite quick, but I think the final product is well rendered.

I just completed the other guy in a red suit. Merry Christmas! Acrylic on multi-media paper.
I've been watching the new CW Flash series. It has me entertained with the story line, characters, and cliff hanger...especially at the finale. Looking forward to new episodes in January.

Daenerys Targaryen

I've recently completed my first Game of Thrones sketch card commission of Daenerys Targaryen. I think this is my best piece yet. Trying to master any medium has it's challenges and rewarding outcomes. This was completed with acrylic and colored pencils.

Trap Jaw

Here's a concept digital painting of Trap Jaw. First with pencils and inks and then colored with photoshop.

Teela

One of my favorite cartoon series was He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Every weekday at 4pm. I would get off the bus and run to my television set to watch it. Sometimes I would have to mess with the tv antennae to get a clear picture. It was truly a high light of my childhood. Below is a painting of Teela. Acrylic on board. With this image I added a bit of Photoshop for the background.

Supergirl

Supergirl painting completed with acrylic on tag board. I love trying to create a convincing look and personality to a painting. I getting closer to a likeness and I'm beginning to accept  a style that I'm trying to develop.

Zantanna

A painting of Zantanna. This was completed with acrylic paint on illustration board. Many challenges went into this. I'm so happy that I'm one more painting toward my goal of creating appealing pieces of work.

I struggle with placing value on so many wrong things. Everyday, I need God's word to remind me of the treasures that are most important and thank Him for them. Thank you Jesus!

I love to speak on God's word and share. I thought it would be neat to create a comic strip about my thoughts from God's Word. Along with a skeptic always over my shoulder.

Character Concept

Here's a painting of a character idea created by a friend. He provided the details and I created the vision of what this character may look like. I'm still developing my ability to create more of a fine art approach with the comic genre. I find it challenging and exciting to create an illusion of realism.

Classic Mystique

The new X-men movie, Days of Future Past is in theaters. I'm excited to make plans to watch it. The CEO of Divine Authority Comics asked me to design a variant cover for the companies comic.  The character of choice, was Mystique..the Classic Mystique. A perfect preface before going to watch the movie. Below is my process of designing the cover.  First the pencil sketch. Then the inking. Finally, the color is added using Prismacolor markers.

Illustration

Below is an illustration concept for a children's book genre. I wanted to create something a bit fun involving animals. I completed this with watercolor and colored pencil.

Candy Girl
