X-Men

I try to keep developing my ability to draw the human figure and faces. Looking through a magazine I found these two poses from the X-Men movie.

Troy Middle School

Below is my attempt at creating a caricature poster of eight grade students at Troy Middle School. I got the idea from my high school art teacher. The kids at school spend a good amount of time looking at this piece.   Each eighth grade student will receive one of these posters.

House

Here's a watercolor/mixed media painting I did for a friend of mine. I always like adding trees from the backside of a house. It seems to "hug" it and create more of an interesting and balanced composition.

Editorial Cartoon

There's a series of changes that are proposed for a 25 year lease contract with the Casella Waste Systems Inc. that operates the county landfill located in the town of Chemung.  This contract with the proposed modifications could  cost the county millions.  Here's a cartoon I created based on this very topic. This cartoon appeared in the Morning Times Paper on April 10.

Young Authors' Reception

Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak at the Young Authors' Reception. This reception took place at the Bradford County Library.  I was able to present my own writings as well as my artwork. Afterwards I was able to speak to a few of the aspiring authors. I suggested that if they ever needed an illustrator in the future...just contact me and I'll be willing to help.

Here's the link.

Princess Leia

Another cut out for the PSSAs. We created Princess Leia a bit differenlty. Instead of a white flowing robe, we spiced her up a bit and gave her an outfit worthy of a true girl jedi. Go girl power!

Horse Painting

Recently, I completed a cut out for a client. Though, this took some time to put together I enjoyed the challenge. I've been trying to improve on my skills when it comes to painting a likeness of people. The more I practice, the more I understand the structure of the human face and how it interacts with shadows and lights. My goal is to create such a photo realistic portrait that it is difficult to tell the difference between the actual photograph and the painting. For now, this painting reflects my current ability.

A closer shot.

Ram-man

Ram-man is a character from He-man and the Masters of the Universe. My son got this character for his birthday. The new set of He-man figures are detailed. Since I don't have 3-d figures available for me to practice with, I decided to use this action-figure as my model.
